Find a place to begin nearby.
Look at familiar streets and local green spaces with a little more curiosity.
Look nearby first
A local park, a familiar street or a clearly marked path can be a starting point for planning. Check public access, crossing points, opening hours and places to pause. An attractive photograph is not confirmation that a route is suitable or open.
Keep a small local list
Record where the route begins, how you get there and any details that affect accessibility. Add a note about the conditions you found, with the date. Choose plans that fit your circumstances rather than somebody else’s distance or pace.
